Five Weeks, amazingly fast. I can believe how time flies. Now i cant remember what life was like when Amber was pregnant. Amber and i are really loving every second. He has been so fun and so hilarious. He doesnt do much but enough to make u roll on the floor laughing. It sure has been exciting having friends and family come visit and seeing the joy he brings to them and how much love they have for him. Thanks everybody.

Oakley Arrives

So the little man has arrived home. Amber and I couldn't be more happy. I have the same happiness i had on my wedding day. The joy he brings to everyones face. He lights up the room and it seems people try to leave but they are pulled in again by his little light. That has been the best part so far, how happy he makes everyone around him.

havent updated recently. Not too much too report, just waiting on him. I feel confident that I am more anxious than i need to be. I feel bad, she is non-complaincent and content and knows its on him, i am ready though, i am ready for pictures, his growth, and of courses firsts...

Patiently i am trying but everything else is out of focus, work, softball, friendships, everything until he comes, who knows it may get worse too when he shows up. But were ready Buddy, anytime. I am waiting by the phone for her call...

July to the 4th

Good Times...
Always is, the one that i look forward to the most. Amber almost couldn't go but at the last second was able to get Saturday off and join the festivities.
So yes Amber had her fun in the Sun, she was warm, slightly uncomfortable but all in all a real sport.

Lastly with the start of July, it dawned on me that this is the last month of just the two of us, forevermore it will be the three of us. Very Cool.

This weekend I watched a video of one of Lou Giglio from Chris Tomlin's Indescribable tour. The sermon was on how we relate in size to the rest of the universe, interesting to realize how small we truly are. The beauty of the talk was that he circled back to the miracle of each one of us and how so many things make up of each one of us, that no one person is the same, there are 6 billion of us... Amazing, Oakley is part of Amber and I but completely his own, blows me away and reminds me that your checking account balance means nothing, the job title on your business card, and the car you drive has nothing to do with your True Life and True Design.

Met the Pedatrician Today

I didnt know that you actually have to interview these individuals, like we are hiring them. Interesting. But I think its a great idea and well I guess after meeting with someone can you really call and say we appreciate your time but we decided to go in another direction? Who knows but either way he seemed solid and the lil guy should be in good hands.

We talked about the amount of video and television we should expose him to and i am sure we will have future talks about this to, but it made me think about the music that he hears as well. We all know my obsession with Mayer but beyond that the radio will not supply him with the diversity and knowledge he needs to really know good music...Our vehicles and stereos will be playing a lot of CDs and from all dimensions. know music, no radio. But as long as he makes his own choices and stands with them, maybe he's the kid that knows Stevie Ray Vaughn at 10, who knows?

To Get Started

We now are officially telling people more about the name...

The reaction has been a mixture of Oh wow, I love it, never heard of it... to oh like Oakley Clothes** and even like Charles Oakley, which really wowed me because he was never a person that crossed my mind within naming him. But i guess we will be okay because when he is 5 or 6 and names really start to matter, no kid will know who Charles Oakley is.
The middle name will be a challenge and is a work in process. I am loving the name more and more, hoping this name will be a strong name for the Lord.
